We use the safest available anesthetics which provide that extra margin of safety in our patients. All anesthetized animals will have an IV catheter placed for fluids during the procedure and will be monitored with an E.K.G., pulse oxymeter, blood pressure, end-tidal CO2 and temperature. In addition, our trained surgical nurses monitor the patient's vital signs every 2 to 5 minutes depending on the risk factor of the patient. We only use Sevoflurane anesthesia, which is currently the safest available gas anesthetic.
